Professional Driver Assessment · Pretoria & Centurion

Is Your Driver Actually
Safe Behind the Wheel?

A valid licence is not a safety guarantee.
Find out the truth before an accident does.

Many drivers obtained their licence years ago and have since developed bad habits — or never had the best technique to begin with. Centurion Driving School’s Evaluation of Licenced Drivers service gives employers and individuals a clear, professional picture of a driver’s real skill level — before something goes wrong.

Why Employers Can’t Afford to Skip This

There’s a critical gap in South African road traffic law that most employers don’t know about.

Under the Road Traffic Act, a driver licensed for a heavy vehicle — such as Code EC — is not legally prevented from driving a light vehicle like a Code B car. A truck driver could legally take the wheel of a company car or passenger shuttle without ever being properly assessed for it.

Legal Liability

If an accident reveals your driver was unassessed for that vehicle type, your company may be held responsible.

Insurance Risk

Insurers may refuse to pay out if the driver wasn’t verified as competent for the specific vehicle involved.

Safety Exposure

A truck driver may have zero practical experience in busy urban traffic or tight parking — and neither of you may know it.

A documented evaluation gives you proof that you fulfilled your duty of care as an employer.

What the Evaluation Covers

A qualified instructor accompanies the driver on-road. Every area is scored 1 (Poor) to 4 (Excellent).

What You Get

After the assessment, you receive a written report you can keep on file and act on.

The report summarises performance across every assessed category — highlighting strengths and flagging areas that need attention. Whether you’re onboarding a new employee, reviewing fleet drivers, or simply checking your exposure, this gives you the facts you need to make informed decisions.
